ANALYSIS
Most impressive thing isn’t the raw numbers, it’s when they were done.
@ 64kg -
12-minute effort of 402 W (6.28 W/kg) - early in the ride,
5-minute effort of 426 W (6.66 W/kg) came after more than 3.5 hours of riding in a 134 km ride with over 2,100 m of climbing.
3 minutes effort of 508 W for is strong as well, but for me the durability is what stands out.
What impressed me was how little he faded between the two tests (losing only 20 W from 5 to 12 minutes - a good aerobic engine sitting underneath the punch.) Plenty of riders can test well fresh.
Overall - not just a good puncheur but ability to hold such a high percentage of his 5-minute power for 12 minutes suggests there is a strong aerobic base there as well, which is often what separates riders who test well from riders who can actually deliver in races
